Hyreus are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Business Development Manager to grow our clients presence across the event power and temporary power rental market in Ireland.
The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new business opportunities, managing key client relationships, and driving revenue growth within sectors including live events, festivals, film & television, construction, utilities, and industrial projects.
This role requires a strong understanding of temporary power solutions, generator rental, battery storage, distribution systems, and site power requirements. The Business Development Manager will work closely with operations and technical teams to deliver reliable, compliant, and customer-focused power solutions across Ireland.
Responsibilities
Identify and secure new business opportunities within the events, entertainment, construction, industrial, and infrastructure sectors.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with event organisers, production companies, contractors, venues, and procurement teams.
Promote the company’s temporary power rental solutions including generators, battery energy storage systems, distribution equipment, cabling, and associated services.
Prepare and deliver tailored proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
Conduct client meetings, site visits, and project consultations to assess power requirements and recommend suitable solutions.
Work collaboratively with operations, logistics, and technical teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Negotiate commercial terms and close sales opportunities in line with company targets.
Maintain accurate sales forecasts, pipeline reporting, and CRM records.
Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and emerging opportunities within the Irish rental and events industry.
Represent the company at trade shows, networking events, and industry functions.
Ensure all solutions comply with relevant Irish health & safety and electrical standards.
Support account management activities to maximise repeat business and long-term partnerships.
The Candidate
Proven experience in business development, sales, or account management within the temporary power, generator rental, event infrastructure, or related hire industry.
Strong understanding of event power systems, temporary electrical distribution, and rental operations.
Existing network within the Irish events, construction, entertainment, or industrial sectors would be highly advantageous.
Commercially focused with a demonstrated ability to achieve and exceed sales targets.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship management skills.
Ability to understand technical requirements and translate them into practical commercial solutions.
Self-motivated, organised, and capable of managing multiple projects and opportunities simultaneously.
Willingness to travel regularly throughout Ireland.
Full clean driving licence.
Proficient in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications.
Experience working in fast-paced operational environments is desirable.
