Hyreus is currently recruiting an experienced Engineering Manager for an exciting opportunity based in Cumbria, working with a leading Tier One civil engineering contractor.
The successful candidate will provide technical and engineering leadership across a major project, working closely with project management, design, construction, commercial and operational teams to ensure engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

Responsibilities
Provide overall engineering leadership and technical direction across the project, ensuring engineering activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project requirements.
Lead and coordinate engineering teams, ensuring effective communication between design, construction, commercial and operational functions.
Manage engineering deliverables, technical documentation, design interfaces and engineering programmes.
Ensure designs and engineering solutions comply with relevant standards, specifications, legislation and project requirements.
Coordinate with designers, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders to resolve technical issues and maintain project progress.
Review and approve technical submissions, drawings, specifications, calculations and other engineering documentation as required.
Identify and manage engineering risks, technical challenges and opportunities throughout the project lifecycle.
Support the development and implementation of construction methodologies, temporary works and engineering solutions.
Monitor engineering progress against programme, identifying potential delays and implementing appropriate mitigation.
Provide technical support to the project team and ensure engineering decisions are communicated effectively.
Ensure engineering activities are carried out in accordance with relevant health, safety, quality and environmental requirements.
Attend technical, design, progress and coordination meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
Maintain accurate engineering records and provide regular updates and reports to senior project management.
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as an Engineering Manager, Senior Engineering Manager, Principal Engineer or similar senior engineering role within civil engineering or major infrastructure.
Strong technical background with experience working on complex civil engineering projects.
Experience working for a Tier One contractor is highly desirable.
Strong understanding of engineering design, construction methodologies, technical compliance and project delivery.
Experience managing engineering teams and coordinating multidisciplinary project stakeholders.
Strong knowledge of UK construction standards, health and safety requirements and quality processes.
Excellent leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Commercially aware with the ability to understand the impact of engineering decisions on programme, cost and delivery.
Relevant engineering degree or equivalent qualification, with professional membership such as ICE advantageous.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities within a demanding project environment.
