Our client is a leading engineering and infrastructure contractor delivering renewable energy projects across the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced M&E Manager to lead the successful delivery of hydroelectric schemes from pre-construction through commissioning and handover.
The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards while maintaining strong relationships with clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Lead the delivery of hydroelectric power projects from inception through to completion.
Manage multidisciplinary project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental (HSQE) requirements.
Develop and maintain project programmes, budgets, and resource plans.
Monitor project performance, productivity, and commercial outcomes.
Manage client relationships and act as the primary point of contact throughout project delivery.
Coordinate engineering, design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
Identify and manage project risks, opportunities, and mitigation measures.
Oversee contract administration and support commercial teams with change management.
Ensure project reporting requirements are met and communicated effectively to stakeholders.
Support recruitment, development, and performance management of project personnel.
Promote a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with company governance, information security, and operational procedures.
Candidate Requirements
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Renewable Energy, or a related discipline.
Demonstrable experience delivering hydroelectric, renewable energy, civil infrastructure, or power generation projects.
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and construction delivery processes.
Experience managing clients, contractors, consultants, and regulatory authorities.
Proven ability to lead and motivate project teams.
Strong commercial awareness with experience managing budgets and forecasting expenditure.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or equivalent construction contracts.
Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving capabilities.
Full UK driving licence.
SMSTS and CSCS certification preferred.
Professional membership with ICE, APM, CIWEM, or equivalent is advantageous.
