Hyreus are currently recruiting for a Project Director for our client’s Major Projects Team in Inverness.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for developing and executing project delivery strategies from business development through to successful project completion. The Project Director will provide leadership across large-scale infrastructure and construction projects, ensuring safe, efficient and commercially successful delivery while maintaining strong relationships with clients, joint venture partners and key stakeholders.
Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement project delivery strategies from bid stage through construction and handover.

  • Take overall accountability for the successful delivery of major projects within the portfolio.

  • Lead integrated project delivery teams, providing clear direction, leadership and support.

  • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with clients, joint venture partners and key stakeholders.

  • Ensure the safe design and construction of works, promoting a culture where everyone returns home safely every day.

  • Manage project overhead costs and resources to achieve agreed business objectives.

  • Deliver projects in line with budget, programme and quality requirements while meeting client expectations.

  • Represent the business in accordance with company policies, values and strategic objectives.

  • Recruit, develop and retain high-performing project teams.

  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation and operational excellence across projects.

  • Act as a company representative when required and support collaborative working initiatives.

Candidate Requirements

  • Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.

  • Chartered status or membership of a relevant professional institution is preferred.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering major infrastructure or construction projects.

  • Extensive experience leading complex project teams and managing key stakeholder relationships.

  • Strong commercial, operational and programme management expertise.

  • Proven ability to manage project budgets, resources and business performance targets.

  • Exceptional leadership, communication and team development skills.

  • Strong commitment to health, safety, quality and environmental standards.

  • Experience within the UK construction and infrastructure market.

  • Vast experience managing complex infrastructure projects; experience in hydro or power projects would be advantageous.
