Hyreus are currently recruiting for an experienced Project Manager to join a well-established engineering business delivering refrigeration projects across Cork and the wider region. This is an excellent opportunity for a project management professional with a strong background in refrigeration, mechanical services or a related engineering environment, looking to take responsibility for projects from initial planning through to successful completion.
The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating projects, managing client relationships, overseeing site teams and subcontractors, and ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time and within budget. The role would suit an organised and commercially aware Project Manager who can combine strong technical knowledge with effective leadership and communication skills.
Responsibilities
Manage refrigeration projects from initial planning through to completion and handover.
Coordinate project programmes, resources, labour, materials and subcontractors.
Work closely with clients, consultants, suppliers and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery.
Monitor project progress, costs, budgets and programme performance.
Oversee site activities and ensure works are completed to the required quality and specification.
Coordinate procurement of equipment, materials and specialist services.
Identify and manage project risks, technical issues and potential delays.
Ensure all works are carried out in accordance with relevant health and safety requirements and company procedures.
Review technical drawings, specifications and project documentation.
Manage project variations, valuations and commercial considerations where required.
Attend project meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and senior management.
Support testing, commissioning and final project handover.
Maintain accurate project records and ensure all relevant documentation is completed.
The Ideal Candidate
Proven experience as a Project Manager within refrigeration, HVAC, mechanical services or a closely related engineering sector.
Strong understanding of refrigeration systems, mechanical services and project delivery.
Experience managing projects from planning through to completion.
Strong organisational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with confidence dealing with clients, subcontractors and project teams.
Good commercial awareness and experience monitoring project costs and budgets.
Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to project management.
Good understanding of health and safety requirements within a construction or engineering environment.
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and project specifications.
Relevant engineering, refrigeration or project management qualification would be advantageous.
