​Hyreus are currently working on a new role for an Electrical Project Engineer focussing on commercial and datacentre projects across the UK.

The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical building services and data centre projects. This includes essential and non-essential systems covering power distribution, lighting, and structured connectivity. The role blends hands-on electrical engineering expertise with project management responsibility, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and to specification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the full project lifecycle from initial site surveys through design, specification, and cost estimation to installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.

  • Design and size electrical systems in line with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements.

  • Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and quotations.

  • Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and programme adherence.

  • Oversee testing, commissioning, and certification of electrical systems.

  • Provide formal electrical sign-off where required, acting as the responsible electrical engineer.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical regulations, codes, and industry best practices.

  • Support energy efficiency, sustainability, and net-zero carbon initiatives across the portfolio.

  • Liaise with clients, internal stakeholders, and third parties to ensure successful project outcomes.

The Candidate:

  • Strong background in electrical building services and/or data centre environments.

  • Proven experience delivering electrical projects from concept through to completion.

  • Sound knowledge of electrical standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.

  • Commercially aware with the ability to develop accurate scopes and costings.

  • Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
