Hyreus are currently working on a new role for an Electrical Project Engineer focussing on commercial and datacentre projects across the UK.
The Electrical Project Engineer is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of electrical building services and data centre projects. This includes essential and non-essential systems covering power distribution, lighting, and structured connectivity. The role blends hands-on electrical engineering expertise with project management responsibility, ensuring projects are delivered safely, compliantly, on time, and to specification.
Responsibilities
Lead the full project lifecycle from initial site surveys through design, specification, and cost estimation to installation, testing, commissioning, and final handover.
Design and size electrical systems in line with relevant standards, regulations, and client requirements.
Prepare technical specifications, scopes of work, and quotations.
Manage contractors and suppliers to ensure quality, safety, and programme adherence.
Oversee testing, commissioning, and certification of electrical systems.
Provide formal electrical sign-off where required, acting as the responsible electrical engineer.
Ensure compliance with all applicable electrical regulations, codes, and industry best practices.
Support energy efficiency, sustainability, and net-zero carbon initiatives across the portfolio.
Liaise with clients, internal stakeholders, and third parties to ensure successful project outcomes.
The Candidate:
Strong background in electrical building services and/or data centre environments.
Proven experience delivering electrical projects from concept through to completion.
Sound knowledge of electrical standards, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Detail-oriented with a strong focus on quality and compliance.
Commercially aware with the ability to develop accurate scopes and costings.
Proactive, organised, and able to work independently.
