Hyreus is recruiting an experienced Health & Safety Coordinator to join a UK leader in the design, installation, service, and maintenance of industrial and commercial refrigeration systems, based in their Norwich office.
The Health & Safety Coordinator is responsible for ensuring a safe working environment by implementing health and safety policies and procedures and monitoring compliance. They will assess workplace hazards, provide safety training, and ensure compliance with regulations to prevent accidents and promote employee well-being. They are responsible for maintaining H&S compliance & coordinating all branch level H&S functions.
Responsibilities:
Support development, Implementation & compliance to health and safety policies and procedures.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
Conduct regular risk assessments and workplace safety audit/ inspections
Responsible for branch level fire and first aid safety & building compliance
Monitor & coordinate safety training sessions for employees.
Monitor & coordinate health surveillance for employees
Investigate & record accidents, incidents, and near-misses, and implement corrective actions and report on.
Provide guidance on emergency procedures and safe working practices.
Liaise with and evaluate contractors H&S systems for supply chain approval
Liaise and co-ordinate with clients on H&S matters
Support with communicating health & safety updates to relevant teams
Monitor, maintain and update health & safety documentation, registers and trackers
Maintain accurate safety records, including audit & incident reports & H&S KPIS.
Promote a proactive health and safety culture across the organisation.
Collaborate and report to H&S manager on H&S matters
The Candidate:
NEBOSH Level 3 National General Certificate in Occupational Safety & Health
Experience in health and safety role within
Strong understanding of H&S regulations and risk management.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Proficient in MS office core applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Positive, proactive and a self-starter.
Excellent time management skills & ability to balance multiple tasks
