Hyreus are currently recruiting for a Senior Health & Safety Officer on behalf of our client to support the Health & Safety Manager in implementing and maintaining safe working practices across live construction sites. The role is based out of the Dublin office with regular travel to client sites nationwide.
Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and enforce safety standards in line with the Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013

  • Carry out randomly timed site inspections and report required remedial actions to subcontractors and Project Management

  • Promote positive safety behaviours and commend initiatives that reduce site risk

  • Coordinate and ensure Health & Safety inductions for all site personnel, including subcontractors

  • Perform site safety audits to ensure compliance with the Safety and Health Plan

  • Identify, record, and assess hazardous situations

  • Ensure statutory inspections are completed and records maintained in compliance with regulations

  • Liaise with Project Management and Group EHS departments, including reporting and documentation

  • Prepare and review method statements and risk assessments

  • Deliver toolbox talks and safety briefings

  • Assist in delivering training programmes as required

  • Support accident and incident investigations

Candidate Requirements

  • Ideally Electrical trade background preferred

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience on large-scale construction projects

  • Proven client-facing experience within pharmaceutical, medical device, and industrial/commercial environments

  • Strong knowledge of Irish health, safety, and environmental legislation

  • Thorough understanding of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001, with experience working within ISO-certified systems

  • Level 8 qualification in Health & Safety

  • Extensive experience in Project HSE Management

  • Working towards Graduate Membership of IOSH

  • Ability to deliver internal Health & Safety management training

  • Competent in conducting accident and incident investigations

  • Confident communicator with the ability to influence site teams and senior stakeholders

  • Highly organised, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities

  • Passionate about driving a positive safety culture and continuous improvement
