Hyreus are currently recruiting for a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer for our client’s projects team based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious mechanical engineer to join a high-performing team delivering complex mechanical engineering projects.
The successful candidate will bring strong technical expertise and proven experience across all phases of mechanical engineering projects, including design, construction, and implementation. The role requires a strong commitment to safety, quality standards, and client satisfaction, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the project team at client design and progress meetings and communicate outcomes to internal stakeholders

  • Review design specifications and drawings to fully understand project requirements and ensure adherence to programme schedules

  • Conduct design reviews of drawings, specifications, and schedules to ensure compliance with project requirements, standards, and industry best practice

  • Ensure mechanical works are installed in accordance with project specifications and client requirements

  • Develop engineering solutions as required, including detailed calculations and sketches for client approval

  • Review coordinated construction drawings to ensure technical accuracy and integration with other disciplines

  • Monitor updated design specifications and drawings, identifying scope or cost variances and communicating these to relevant stakeholders

  • Manage procurement processes including technical submittals and procurement schedules

  • Review specialist supplier packages to ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable industry standards, and design intent

  • Prepare project-specific commissioning plans

  • Review BCAR preliminary inspection plans and coordinate with the quality team


Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

  • Minimum 4+ years’ experience in a similar engineering or construction environment

  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, design tools, and relevant software

  • Proven project coordination and problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and work to strict deadlines

  • Good understanding of relevant regulations and safety standards within mechanical engineering
