Responsibilities
- Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets for mechanical services packages
- Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
- Coordinate procurement of materials, plant and equipment to ensure project timelines are met
- Manage and coordinate supervisors, operatives and subcontractors on site
- Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient workforce utilisation
- Provide leadership, guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
- Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
- Oversee implementation of mechanical installations in line with technical standards and safety regulations
- Monitor project costs, track budgets and support financial control of projects
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation while maintaining quality and programme commitments
- Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
- Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
- Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors and key stakeholders
- Provide regular project progress reports and updates
- Ensure quality standards are maintained through inspections and oversight of workmanship
- Oversee testing, commissioning and system handover processes
- Manage project close-out activities including documentation, final inspections and approvals
- Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to finalise project accounts and contract settlements
Candidate Requirements
- Craft apprenticeship background within mechanical building services
- HNC/HND qualification in a Mechanical Building Services discipline (beneficial but not essential)
- Experience managing mechanical services projects
- Experience delivering projects within commercial and industrial sectors
- Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building systems
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Experience using project planning software
- Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
- Strong technical and commercial awareness with high attention to detail
