Hyreus are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager for our client’s Building Services team, supporting the delivery of mechanical packages across a range of commercial and industrial construction and refurbishment projects in Central Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a growing and dynamic team, playing a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical services on multiple projects while contributing to the company’s continued expansion within the Scottish construction market.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets for mechanical services packages
  • Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Coordinate procurement of materials, plant and equipment to ensure project timelines are met
  • Manage and coordinate supervisors, operatives and subcontractors on site
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient workforce utilisation
  • Provide leadership, guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
  • Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
  • Oversee implementation of mechanical installations in line with technical standards and safety regulations
  • Monitor project costs, track budgets and support financial control of projects
  • Identify opportunities for cost optimisation while maintaining quality and programme commitments
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
  • Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors and key stakeholders
  • Provide regular project progress reports and updates
  • Ensure quality standards are maintained through inspections and oversight of workmanship
  • Oversee testing, commissioning and system handover processes
  • Manage project close-out activities including documentation, final inspections and approvals
  • Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to finalise project accounts and contract settlements

Candidate Requirements
  • Craft apprenticeship background within mechanical building services
  • HNC/HND qualification in a Mechanical Building Services discipline (beneficial but not essential)
  • Experience managing mechanical services projects
  • Experience delivering projects within commercial and industrial sectors
  • Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Experience using project planning software
  • Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
  • Strong technical and commercial awareness with high attention to detail
