Hyreus are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Project Manager for our client’s Building Services team, supporting the delivery of mechanical packages across a range of commercial and industrial construction and refurbishment projects in Central Scotland.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional to join a growing and dynamic team, playing a key role in the successful delivery of mechanical services on multiple projects while contributing to the company’s continued expansion within the Scottish construction market.
Responsibilities
Develop and manage project plans, schedules and budgets for mechanical services packages
Define project scope, objectives and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders
Coordinate procurement of materials, plant and equipment to ensure project timelines are met
Manage and coordinate supervisors, operatives and subcontractors on site
Allocate resources effectively to ensure efficient workforce utilisation
Provide leadership, guidance and support to project teams throughout the project lifecycle
Review mechanical designs, drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements
Oversee implementation of mechanical installations in line with technical standards and safety regulations
Monitor project costs, track budgets and support financial control of projects
Identify opportunities for cost optimisation while maintaining quality and programme commitments
Conduct risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies
Ensure full compliance with health & safety regulations and company procedures
Act as the main point of contact for clients, contractors and key stakeholders
Provide regular project progress reports and updates
Ensure quality standards are maintained through inspections and oversight of workmanship
Oversee testing, commissioning and system handover processes
Manage project close-out activities including documentation, final inspections and approvals
Work closely with the Quantity Surveyor to finalise project accounts and contract settlements
Candidate Requirements
Craft apprenticeship background within mechanical building services
HNC/HND qualification in a Mechanical Building Services discipline (beneficial but not essential)
Experience managing mechanical services projects
Experience delivering projects within commercial and industrial sectors
Strong technical knowledge of mechanical building systems
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Experience using project planning software
Strong analytical, negotiation and communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects and work to tight deadlines
Strong technical and commercial awareness with high attention to detail
