Hyreus are currently recruiting for an Electrical Project Engineer for our client’s delivery team on projects based in Dublin. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong technical capability across electrical design, construction coordination, safety, and client satisfaction while supporting project delivery from design review through installation and commissioning.
Responsibilities

  • Undertake full design review of drawings, specifications and schedules to ensure compliance with applicable standards and industry guides

  • Ensure works are installed in accordance with project specifications and Project QA plan (including pre-agreed benchmarking)

  • Develop engineering alternative solutions including detailed calculations and sketches for client approval

  • Review Design / IFC specifications and drawings to fully understand project scope and ensure specification compliance in line with programme priorities

  • Generate and manage Requests for Information (RFI) to the client where required

  • Use engineering software tools such as Dialux/Relux, Amtech Pro Design, Navisworks, BIM 360, Procore or similar

  • Review coordinated construction drawings and prepare/monitor technical submittals for client approval

  • Review specialist supplier packages for compliance with project specification, applicable industry standards and design intent

  • Prepare and monitor procurement schedule in conjunction with procurement team

  • Review BCAR preliminary inspection plan and coordinate with the quality team

  • Monitor LEED and BREEAM requirements as directed

Candidate Requirements

  • Level 7/8 Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Services Engineering or Building Services Engineering

  • 3+ years’ experience in a similar role within construction / building services environment

  • Strong IT skills including AutoCAD, Navisworks and Microsoft Office packages

  • Experience with electrical design and coordination software (Dialux/Relux, Amtech etc.) preferred

  • Excellent time management and diagnostic/problem-solving skills

  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and work to strict deadlines

  • Good knowledge of current electrical, fire alarm and emergency lighting standards within Ireland
